Dense. Colorful. Vibrant. Organized. Direct. &. Warm. These adjectives not only describe the many patterns of my writing portfoilio, but, can also decsribe the ME that is within these pieces, exuding off of these webpages presented through your eyes, meshed with your thoughts. You are the reader.
My name is Kalynn Hawkins and I am currently a graduating Senior at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor Campus). I have evolved over the past four years here at the university throught the courses I've taken, relationships I've built, and pieces I've written. Majoring in Psychology has taught me the academic and scientific prose important to direct-based research writing. Minoring in the Minor In Writing Program (MIW) has also taught me these skills, along with multimedia aspects, different types of audiences, and flexibility of form in my writing. This portfolio will focus on my evolution as a writer through the MIW Program as well as introduce you to who I am as a person, writer, and student.
I have grown as a writer through my transparency of myself and audience by being open-minded and flexible to serve a purpose through my words. I have used this natural creativity of writing through my ART, as well as through my development as a undergradute student. My creativity has changed, is changing, and will change throughout my life as a writer. I am open to these changes and encourage you, the reader, to immerse yourself in my changes in this portfolio as well.
As you're directed through these pages, feel free to refer to the PEACE.LOVE.&WEIRDNESS that is within you. Don't be afraid to srunch your face at the many allusions I use, word-choice/tones I make, and craft comparisons to distant artistis and writers. They all inspre me. You inspire me for reading.
